Job applicants queuing to become a part of pool season in Vegas

Several resorts in Las Vegas are, yet again, looking to hire a number of pool greeters, food servers and mixologists for the coming seven months. They are hiring to accommodate for the pool season that takes place on the Strip.

For many, this will mean coming back to the job that they had last year, where they will be paid a minimum wage and tips (depending upon the generosity of the customer). There will be others, who would be looking at this as an opportunity to make a way in this lucrative hospitality industry and be a part of some of the hottest resorts in Las Vegas.

The Cosmopolitan are already having auditions and job fairs for filling up almost 200 positions for their pools.

Daniel Espino, who is the Vice President, People at The Cosmopolitan, said, “Our main aim is to not find people, who wish to get employed. We want them to be excited about this opportunity of working in hospitality industry.”

For filling up the positions, Daniel along with his staff went through 1,500 applicants on Wednesday.

He said, “We are having more of a personalized approach for hiring individuals for such a job, this time around. The perfect candidate will have the desire to be in the hospitality industry. He should also have that feature of connecting with everyone.”
